Sperrys and Socks

I know it's kind of weird wearing socks with top-siders, but I think they look kinda cool. I like mixing different colors on my socks and pairing them with one of my three pairs of sperrys. Great for the summer and fall. What do you think?

New Boots

Yesterday, I bought these amazing military inspired boots, they're from ZARA and made from leather. I'm so loving them right now... I'm wearing them to Teen Vogue's Fashion University (btw, I got accepted and going, SO EXCITED, can't wait!!)

Do you guys like them?

A is for Antonio Azzuolo

From the suburbs, straight to the streets of the city, is what I call this fall 2010 collection; made by Antonio Azuolo, a new american designer who's placing his name into the catwalks with a new, different concept of fashion. This collection is about a nicely tailored cowboy, with a spark of modernity. Some of the outfits remind me of the HBO's series "Big Love", I don't know why...

Prior to launching a. a., Antonio Azzuolo served as design director for Ralph Lauren Purple and Black Label, where he dedicated his time to concept and design. Earlier, Azzuolo worked for over ten years at high-end New York and Parisian design institutions such as Hermès and Kenzo.

Dsquared² gets punky

I've never been a huge fan of Dsquared², but I have to recognize that they are innovating their brand and, going out of the "camping color splash" box, and inventing new kinds of style, like this punky dark edge, that I'm loving. "Instead of buffalo plaid and trapper hats, this season we get slouchy, skinny black pants; studded leather belts; sparkly black dinner jackets". Thumbs up for Dean and Dan Caten!

Fingerless Gloves

It seems lake we are going to see a lot of fingerless gloves this fall/winter. I personally like the idea of wearing them, they look cool and it gives the outfit that rebel touch. Of course, we have to know when to wear them, they don't go with everything. There are some paradigms about this fashion accessory, like Scott Schuman said "fingerless gloves have always struck me as too raggedy - fine for a punk or a chimney sweep, but that's about it". Here are some examples of the use of this accessory, from fall 2010 designer fashion shows.

Adam Kimmel, fall 2010

It's fashion week everyone!, I'm so excited to see what the designers have to offer this season, and to start with the right foot, I'm choosing Adam Kimmel, this amazing designer / architecture that brings a working man style, mixed with his ideas of art, which I think is the perfect combination. For this fall, he plays with primary colors like red and blue; and velvet, a fabric that not all designers dare to use. I also loved the models wearing freakish masks, it kind of gives the outfit some personality and of course, the branding that is very important today, if anyone wants to make it into this world.

Speaking of fashion week, this tuesday one of the most amazing / creative designers of all time died, Alexander "Lee" McQueen. I'm very sad for this event, and the fashion industry couldn't be more devastated for his loss during the most important event of the year. My condolences to his family. His empire will live forever.
