Target + Neiman Marcus: The perfect couple for this Christmas

Target and Neiman Marcus just announced their Holiday season collaboration, celebrating 50 years of design. The two brands reached 24 top-designers such as Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch, Prabal Gurung, Rodarte, Marchesa, among other big names at the fashion industry; and collaborated with them creating more than 50 gorgeous gifts for these Holidays. I think this is a brilliant idea. You can give someone you love a pretty cool designer gift at a very affordable price. I personally want these items:

Proenza Schouler iPad Sleeve $39.99

Marc Jacobs Pouch $69.99

Rodarte Ornament $19.99

Thom Browne blazer $149.99

Sara Galindo

My last day at Mexico City

I am back at my hometown, Ensenada, Mexico. I spent a week in Mexico City doing wonderful things, such as going to Mercedes Benz Fashion Weeek, meeting my friends, and going shopping. It's been a great week. This city inspires me so much. It is so big and so diverse, and there is so much to see, that a week isn't time enough.

My last day at Mexico city I went to the Zocalo, wich is the main touristic attraction, then we visited Palacio de Bellas Artes, this beautiful art school which is really really old. Then we went to a huge botanical garden, where you could find any plant in the existence of the universe.

I wore:

T-shirt: Maison Martin Margiela x H&M
Sweater: Vintage at Beyond Retro Stockholm
Velvet pants: Uniqlo
Shoes: Converse

Pink Magnolia: Baby Light My Fire

It was 10:00 pm at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week tent at Santa Fe, Mexico City, and the lights were on. The splash of hot pink and sparkles were taking the runway. Baby Light my Fire, Pink Magnolia's spring 2013 collection was all about bright fabrics, Swarovsky crystals and being crazy while still keeping that chic factor.

The next morning I was at their showroom, located at the very heart of Mexico City, the Independence Angel. Paulina, their lovely PR let me in and introduced me to their past collections such as Madeline Rocks and Conccita. She let me took some pictures while Pamela Wong was on her way to meet us. Pamela is the CEO of the company and Paola's sister, the creative director at Pink Magnolia. Both of them run the business with a lot of determination and enthusiasm.

Interviewing Pamela, she told us that "Baby Light My fire is inspired by the female firefly flashing her lights to attract attention, and it's her way of flirting" . You can easily see that in the whole collection. They collaborated with Disney and Swarovsky to make this collection so dreamy, yet wearable. The piece that wowed my was the messenger mag with pink leds on the strap. That's something innovative and truly cool.

Pink Magnolia is a Mexican label to be watched. We need these kind of fashion houses in our country, in order for the fashion industry to grow. And the Wong sisters are doing an incredible job. I'll leave you with some of the showroom pictures from my visit. Enjoy!

Lorena Saravia: Spring 2013

Black, white, and earthy colors were the main choices by Lorena Saravia to put a new statement on Mexican Fashion. In her words "this collection was inspired by women's bipolarity. Some of the pieces are made by two opposite yarns, like silk and leather. To me that's how women are nowadays, opposite but still strong".

She worked for Macario Jiménez before starting her own line. Lorena thinks that it is very complicated for her, because Mexicans are not into buying local products. She thanks Mercedes Benz for starting this initiative and putting Mexico on the fashion map.

I got to ask her a question, and I asked her how would she describe the ideal Lorena Saravia costumer (I'm a Marketer, and these kind of things are important to me). Her answer was "A woman that dresses in Lorena Saravia is a woman who knows exactly what she wants. I try to reflect my personality into the clothes. When I wear some of my designs, I feel confident, and that's what we try to give women who chose to wear Lorena Saravia, confidence".

Her collection was one of the few I liked at MBFW Mexico. She plays with silhouettes and fabrics. Every piece looks well tailored and I could totally picture it in the streets of Stockholm were they're in love with simplicity and high fashion. I love that she chose that hairdo and that dark lipgloss, it looks very gothic.

Looks at MBFW

These are some of the looks that captured my attention at the 1st and 2nd day at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Mexico.
She's Montserrat. Co-designer at Lydia Lavín, and also her daughter. She's wearing necklaces and jacket both from Lydia Lavín. The jacket is one of my favorite pieces from their line.
Love that Comme des Garçons top <3 p="p">
Kristina Bazan from KAYTURE was one of Pink Magnolia's special guests.

Castillo de Chapultepec

Today was my Birthday! I had so much fun here in Mexico City. Me and my friend Georgia visited the Chapultepec Castle. The castle is so beautiful and the arquitecture is just brilliant. Mexico City has so much history and beautiful places to look at. I'm just in love with this city, I don't wanna leave.
